This website was developed by the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) with funding from the Government of Alberta. It is a result of the Indigenous Languages Gathering pre-conference at the 2017 Languages Without Borders in Edmonton, Alberta.
The website provides practical resources for teachers of Indigenous languages as well as links to teacher training programs and contemporary research on Indigenous language teaching and acquisition.
In line with its core mission of advancing professional excellence in the teaching of languages in Canada, CASLT is committed to supporting aboriginal educators and communities striving to teach and revitalize their languages. This website will further this mission by providing pedagogies and other resources for teachers of Indigenous languages from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
